Overview
margenie (https://margenie.co) helps Shopify merchants understand profit, ad performance, and product economics. This policy describes what we store and how we handle data subject requests required by the Shopify App Store.
Data we collect
- Shopify Admin data: orders, products, variants, inventory costs, and shop profile information accessed via OAuth scopes you approve at install.
- Cached order payloads: normalized order fields used for profit calculations (including shipping address, UTMs, and line items). Cached up to 3 years for historical reporting.
- Ad platform data: Meta (and optionally Google/manual) spend and campaign entities when you connect those integrations.
- Account data: email and password (for standalone login) or shop-owner email provisioned on App Store install.
How we use data
Data is used solely to provide analytics, profit reporting, ad analysis, and optional AI features inside the app. We do not sell merchant or customer data.
Data retention & deletion
- App uninstall: we delete the store connection and all associated margenie data when Shopify sends
app/uninstalledorshop/redact. - Customer redact: cached orders listed in a
customers/redactwebhook are deleted. - Customer data request: we return cached order data we hold for the requested order IDs.
